Journey of a Marine MoM

Visit with a recruiter

He was one step ahead of me, having already met with a recruiter to check it out before he told me about his plan to join. He had checked out the different MOS options he was interested in and we scheduled an appointment to speak to the recruiter to go over the next steps. Staff Sgt Alexander made a visit to our house, was a great help in answering my questions and even spoke about some of her experiences in boot camp and her journey as a Marine. It was nice to get a female point of view of the Corps. I signed the consent form hoping I wasn't going to regret it later. Due to him only being 17 at the time, I had to sign the consent for him to enlist. Next he was scheduled his visit to the local MEPS (Military Entrance Processing Station) office to start the process. He went through all the medical checks, took the ASVAB test to chose his top 3 MOS according to his scores and did his initial swear in.
